About Todd & Hardcore Road Trip

My name is Todd and I’m a hardcore Toronto Blue Jays fan.  I remember the last World Series title like it was yesterday, capping off back-to-back titles in 1993-94.

That team will forever live in infamy.  John Olerud at 1b was a hit machine, Roberto Alomoar was the best second basemen in the game at the time.  Joe Carter was an RBI machine, and Paul Molitor was winding down a Hall-of-Fame career.

Pitching wise we had Pat Hentgen as the ace, with Dave Stewart and Jack Morris a little past their prime.  Todd Stottlemyre and Juan Guzman both ate up a bunch of innings too.

Sinc ehten things have been pretty dark for my Blue Jays.  A lot of that had to do with the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees being so good and in the same division.  It didn’t leave us a lot of room to make the playoffs.

But all of that changed in 2015 when we finally made another postseason appearance.  And then in 2016 we made it again, but both campaigns ended with some disappointment in the American League Championship Series.  Names like Juan Batista, Edwin Encarnacion, and Josh Donaldson have carried us without a real top notch starter.

I’m hoping that things continue to trend the right way for us, but either way I’m going to keep following the Blue Jays and hopefully keep this blog going with interesting content detailing predictions of what they are going to do and recaps of what they’ve done.

I hope you enjoy!
